Start with a door-edge section
The HINGETRA water-drop group is listed for switch cabinets, control cabinets, network cabinets and other industrial cabinets. A cabinet label alone does not explain the fit: two enclosures can have quite different door folds, frames and access restrictions.
Draw the fixed frame and moving door in the closed position. Mark the proposed hinge axis and the surfaces where the hinge will sit. Include the seal and nearby return flanges if they affect the available space.

Compare the five relevant families
The listed group contains bearing, pin, gasket, grease-nipple and 20 type hinges. Compare each construction and its own dimension table. “Gasket” is the name of a hinge family here; it does not describe the sealing performance of a complete enclosure.
Water-drop families for cabinet review
Compare each relevant family with exact catalog size examples and its detail page. Examples are not a continuous size range.

If you are comparing the first three constructions, see bearing, pin and washer hinges. If a grease fitting is required, check whether the surrounding cabinet permits access to it after assembly.

| Detail | What to show |
|---|---|
| Closed door | Door fold, frame return, seal and hinge position in section |
| Open door | Required opening position and nearby obstructions |
| Removal | Direction and free space needed if the panel must detach |
| Hinge layout | Number and positions of hinges on the door |
| Access | Space for assembly and any grease-fitting connection |
Do not assume that a door which swings freely can also be removed. A top cover or adjacent cabinet can occupy the space needed to disengage a separable hinge. Show those surroundings in a second view where necessary.
Separate the chosen entry from requested changes
For a listed hinge, provide the family and exact size or model. If the door section requires a different dimension, put the required value on your drawing and mark the difference. Do not silently replace a catalog value.
Among this group, customization is explicitly listed for pin, gasket and grease-nipple hinges. Other requests need discussion without assuming the same customization scope. See the standard and custom inquiry guide for the information to provide.
Prepare the cabinet inquiry
- Family and model or size reference.
- Door and frame section, including the opening direction.
- Door dimensions and weight if known, plus hinge positions.
- Any removal requirement, obstruction or maintenance-access concern.
- Drawing revision, quantity and destination.
Attach the current drawing and identify the question you need answered. A request such as “Please review hinge clearance against the marked door return” is more useful than “Please recommend a cabinet hinge.” The alignment guide covers the related geometry checks.
